Mr. Gopal Prasad Shrestha

Mr. Gopal Prasad Shrestha brings over 39 years of experience in research and development, including 32 years with the Government of Nepal and 7 years in donor-funded projects (USAID, IFAD, FAO, and JICA) and NGOs. He has served in high-level roles such as Program Director, Horticulturist, Pomologist, Program Coordinator, National Consultant, Project Coordinator, and JICA Counterpart Expert.

His expertise spans the full value chain of fruits, vegetables, seeds, and spice crops, with a professional focus on temperate fruits. Mr. Shrestha has led activities such as review works, feasibility studies, field surveys, value chain studies, project evaluations, and strategic investment planning. He has also received professional training and exposure visits in India, Philippines, Israel, Japan, Italy, China, and Bangladesh.

Academic Qualification: M.Sc. in Agriculture (Horticulture).

Dr. Sudarshan Prasad Regmi

Agricultural Economist & Livestock Development Expert

Dr. Sudarshan Prasad Regmi is a highly accomplished Agri/Livestock Economist with over 20 years of experience in livestock development, farm business planning, agribusiness, value chains, and livelihoods programming. He has held roles such as Regional Director, Team Leader, M&E Specialist, Business Plan Expert, and Market Analyst, working in both urban and rural contexts.

Dr. Regmi has conducted extensive work in income generation, entrepreneurial development, value chain analysis, and impact assessments using livelihood tools, program frameworks, and participatory rural appraisals. He has worked with the World Bank as a Human Resource and Livestock Expert for end-line and outcome surveys.

Academic Qualification: PhD in Agricultural Economics.

Mr. Krishna Thapa

Rural Development, M&E, and Value Chain Expert

Mr. Krishna Thapa has more than 20 years of national and international experience in rural development, strategic planning, and results-based project management. His core expertise lies in Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), knowledge management, private sector engagement, value chain development, and business plan and proposal analysis.

He has provided advisory support to over 15 value chain projects funded by IFAD and the World Bank across South Asia and Southeast Asia, and visited 60+ districts across Nepal — from the Tarai plains to the mountain regions — assessing local enterprises and organizations.

Academic Qualification: MBA from Tribhuvan University with specialization in Capital Structure and Asset Management.
